Three Days of the Condor
The Good: After Robert Redford passed, I realized I really enjoyed him in the Sting and wanted to see why he carried such a weight. I’ve been on a spy kick recently (the-rest-is-classified) and read around that he had done what some consider the classic film of the genre! So I fired it up and it did not disappoint. It’s not about a secret agent, but more the world they inhabit and how if someone were aware was thrown in to it, how it could go sideways. It also reminds me of the feeling of not being welcomed anywhere and what I’d image not knowing if you’re safe to feel like. The movie also felt like a look back in time, a window into New York in the 70s.
The Bad: I struggled with certain parts of the plot but felt like I understood 95% of it by the time I walked away. Otherwise, I found it very engaging and the ending to be satisfying for the genre it was portraying. Though I would have been happy with another 30 mins dealing with the newspaper of it all!
